Stranger #2

Strangers. is a strange book

In Strangers I feel as though meursault as a Character he has the ability to make him want people around him even though he is a detached person and doesn't shows emotion to the people around him. but the fact he still hangs out with them and goes to the restaurant that he like eating at it shows some care of him letting himself sourand by people. When he was in jail he started going crazy because he wasn't part of the world no more he was compacted in walls and he didn't really care if his girlfriend came and saw him becuase he wasnt paying mind to that he was looking around the room he likes to know things then rather feel a real affect from it. I cant really say meursault is a "bad" person because that's just the way he is as a person, he did kill someone but maybe killing someone is what he had to do to realize there's so much that he has that he can appreciate and take things a little bit more serious.

People try to seem so careless but I think deep down theres more to everything and eventhough you show careless feelings its actually affecting them more as a person. And once they see people can show careless feelings to them , thats a hint people strive to see and feel things around them. And thats how merusalt felt when he was in jail because in jail people wasnt being nice to him he didnt have the same privileges as he did when he wasnt in jail " Once i was in my cell, i asked to have them back. But I was told I wasnt allowed. The first few days were really rough. That may be the thing that was hardest for me." I wonder if thats him showing true emotion and its really affecting that he is in jail? or him saying it as it really didnt matter? & he will get over it. will meursault ever change? will jail give a different view in life? I think the only person that can answer that is him. Will he be able to continue to surive him being detached? When a person feels trape within themselves thats when they want to change but takes many different ways for a person to change.

I wonder how old is he?. What time period was it that he felt some type of way showing emotion? was it a girl from the past? mother? father? a random person?. This book doesnt answer questions that you will like to know. Which at times is a good and a bad thing because its like come on! tell me more! but left with un answered questions is an expansion of your mind being curious. Was this a way him proving him self to a siutaion that happen to him? Can a person really be like this? This book says it all!!!.

Strangers

I think the strangers are very interesting book so far, I don't understand why he treats his mother the way he does. It doesn't seem as though they have a strong connection or maybe something happen to when he was a child? The fact that he shows no emotion I think he is showing emotion even though it doesn't show, deep down inside him I think he feels something. When he went to his mother funeral he wasn’t paying any mind to his mother death but his surrounding. But after awhile he keeps saying its been like 3 days since my mother dies, as though he realizing that his mother is not there no more and its taking affect on him. “I realized he was crying. For some reason of maman". Bam. I think he is showing emotions as well even though he is a detached person I think he is slowly caring ,he fact that his mother died and its slowly affecting him, there is always someway of having feel.

Like I do question, why the fact people would want to detached and I guess “not really apart if the world”, like how would that feel? I don’t think I would want to know sounds kind of scary, even though Banach might say we are alone but if I see people all around me that’s gives me a reason not to feel alone cause I am interacting with people and feeling emotion at the same time. I think the next chapter of him seeing a murder might bring him more into feeling emotion and not so detached because he actually saw death in front of his face. But I’m not sure that’s just a thought.

During Tuesday advisers, I’m with Andy and he gives us assignments on analyzing people and try to figure things out with what you see and what you get out of it. At the end of the day I do be looking at other people and be a little curious. Being involved with things is what shows people characteristic about themselves. If you was detached I don’t really think that’s showing what you really want to be, I think there must be a reason for everything no matter what. Hopefully while I do more reading, maybe he will show more of him self? Or maybe he will just say like that?

Huckabees

I heart Huckabees.. do you really??

Why did they named the movie I >3Huckabees?. thats just weird to me. this kind of reminds me of the name meet the Fockaers. thats just a werid name too.

While I was watching the Huckabees, it made me realize how much this world can be. Meaning there’s always new ideas and thoughts that come up in people minds. The fact that there so many views, there are plenty of ways to argue and reopen to other options of your own opinion. The Huckabees was explaining different thoughts about life; the main Character was influenced by each person views and tries to see through everything they told to think about. It turns out it made him crazier but gave him the ability to make friends and more of life then what he just thought of life. In the end all I think what matters is his views of how he think life affects him, he can have so many ideas come at him but in the end is how he takes it and did it really help him as a person. If not, was it really worth him going through the process of realizing the facts of his own? I think for the Huckabees movie I need to see by myself to understand it more clearly.

This kind of reminds me of Eleanor Roosevelt her beliefs about life she explains that theres some value to your own life so therefore there must be a reason to most things in life.

“Think out for ourselves what we could believe and how we could live by it - Eleanor Roosevelt

I think this is expressing that if you believe in something then living by your beliefs is being who you are as a person and that there’s more than just what people tell you, the fact that you have your own mind gives you the option to your beliefs and that we should be able to think for ourselves and live our life’s.

Do you think some other person will start and talk about the things like the movie Huckabees? I think this will cause a big fight or a game of jeopardy of Banard, Caterine, Banach of their views. That will be intersting to see.ha.

hw the Ethics of absolute freedom.

What is happiness?

Are we free?

I think happiness is what we find within ourselves & at times from some people, is when you put a smile on your face and there’s a meaning to it " a true" meaning and not just a fake smile but a real one. But if a friend was giving the courage to one of her classmates to do something after school, and the classmate found the courage to do it, and the classmate found her self happy getting herself to do something after school. Isn’t that finding happiness within ourselves and from someone else?.

Freedom is beyond Too much. Can’t be categorizes as one thing.

Im not sure if we are free? What Stephanie pointed out in class since the day we are born we were automatically taught what is right and what is wrong and how things should be seen. I also think that the outside world and ourselves is what makes freedom we have the freedom in our minds and thoughts but I think the outside world is what give us our thoughts to think beyond within ourselves. We have the freedom to a certain extant because we are not just living in some random place they are limits to what people can and can not do and if people chose not to fallow there will be consequences. So can we say we have freedom? Or do we have freedom? Or just limit freedom?

hw #3.

I think David Banach is a very interesting guy his thoughts and writing makes you think outside "the box" but not only does he makes you think but makes a person questions a lot of things about life. Then what made this guy think of these ideas? did someone inspired or did he came up with it on his own.?

Would you say that figuring out who you are has to do with the meaning of life?- Mara

When I first read this , the first thing that came to thought were all the things that happened to me and how those experiences help me grow as a person and made me realize I at least know who I am as a person and there are more years to learn about myself. But it is not the same for everybody to realize who they are as a person it cant take someone years to figure that out or maybe there will never know!? that sounds scary!. Or will we ever completely know who we are as a person?.This goes into David Banach and his views of individuals are alone in the world because although he says know one cant understand you but yourself so then that goes into figuring out who you are is that just the meaning of life? because know one understands you? but maybe people do really understand? if we have friends isn't because they understand us as a person.

Is what you see on the outside is not really who you are in the inside. true or false? I believe that's false! sine us human have eyes and communicate with other people what the outside world bring to us individuals does make you who are because we grow and learn from other people and our surroundings. If everything was blank!, and had no meaning will us individuals make so it had a meaning and if we was to make something had meaning then wouldn't that mean what we see in front f us with our eyes does make us who we are on the inside. This also makes me question are we living or simply existing?-Arisa this is a kinda of a hard question but interesting one, I think we are both or people put themselves into both categories because I consider my self living because I breath, eat, sleep and since I changed from being a baby to a full grown person then yes! I have been living. If I was just existing then it wouldn't be a point me being in the world or would they be? but then wouldn't that mean I will be more than just existing?.

From Amanda's post, her questioning who is David Banach to tell people what they should think and how people should view things, then what does he think of him self and his family members and the people that were in his life?. Did they effect him in anyway? did something happen to him to think this way?.

Hw#1-Banach

Banach- "we are Absolute individuals".
I do agree with this quote because everyone as their own mind and way of thinking, this goes into people go what they feel or what makes them think that way,I think when people don't tend to go with what they feel, they either feel guilty or disappointed in themselves. I know this because when I feel unsure of an answer and I tend to go to someone for help, and if I do go for what the other person told me at times I wish I should have chosen my own answer. Banach Said " we feel our pains, our own pleasures, our hopes and our fears immediately, subjectively, from the inside". From What I understand from this Quote is that we have our own emotions and ideas. because of that Ithink when individuals don't go for what they want at times it backfires on us.
...........
I think Banach is right and wrong about we are completely are alone in this world and it been like that for many years. But humans tend to do think of each other and our economy has grown a lot because we tend to help people and make things happen in our world , so its like we do think of ourself but then again we don't. Yes I do believe that we are invdividnals and that a mind belongs to one person and one person only. but then what makes our minds make us do certain things? so what controls us more our minds or our feelings?.At the the end of day people just do think of themselves and if some indiviuals dont.. then why do people say " You need to stop and just think of yourself"?. its like we were made just to think of ourselfs in any situation.
